Soft Resolve

This portrait is built around contrast and restraint. Cool greens and muted earth tones frame a direct, luminous gaze, allowing the face to emerge slowly from shadow and layered paint. Subtle shifts in value and temperature give the skin a living presence, while loose, visible brushwork keeps the image grounded in process rather than polish.

The painting balances structure and softness. Edges dissolve and reform, suggesting movement and thought rather than a fixed moment. It invites sustained viewing, rewarding attention to surface, texture, and the quiet tension between light and dark.
